Atmospheric pressure is the reference

In a relative pressure measurement, the pressure difference is always measured at the currently prevailing ambient pressure. The pressure transmitters denote positive pressure or negative pressure created. The relative pressure measurement takes the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere into account, as the reference.
